Easy Homemade Pizza Dough (Great for Pizza and Cheesy Garlic Fingers!)
This simple, versatile pizza dough comes together quickly with everyday ingredients and works beautifully for both classic pizzas and cheesy garlic fingers. The dough rises in about an hour, rolls out smoothly, and bakes into a perfectly soft, chewy crust. Optional seasonings like Italian herbs and onion powder add extra flavour, and it pairs especially well with wild game, foraged mushrooms, leeks, or your favourite toppings.
Whisk together warm milk or water, sugar and yeast and let sit for 10 minutes.
Add melted butter or oil.
Mix together flour, salt, onion powder and seasoning.
Slowly add flour fixture one cup at a time mixing in between cups. I use the Kitchenaid to make this easier but I’ve definitely made this by hand with great results.
Place your dough ball in an oiled bowl and brush oil on top of the dough. Cover and let it sit at room temperature for about an hour.
Roll out into your desired thickness (it will rise a bit during cooking) and add your desired toppings. Wild game and foraged mushrooms and leeks are a great way to snazz up any pizza.
Cook for 15-20 minutes depending on how thick your crust and toppings are at 475°F and enjoy!!
I also use this dough to make cheesy garlic fingers!! Just add garlic butter, Parmesan and mozzarella.
