400gramsstrong pastacavatappi/gemelli/rigatoni - cooked for half of the recommended time
1small green pepper diced
1cuppepperoni slicescut small
½tspsalt
½tsppepper
½tspparsley
1tsporegano
1tspbasil
1tspgarlic powder
1000mlpasta sauce
1cupmozzarella cheese - shredded - for casserole mixshredded
½cupparmesan cheese - shredded - for casserole mixshredded
½cupbeef (or venison) brothcan sub water
Topping
½cupmozzarella cheese - shredded - topping
20pepperoni slices - topping
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350.
Brown your ground venison. This also works with beef, goose, turkey, even sausage. Cook your pasta for less than half of the amount of time recommended. You want it to be very tender as it will cook further while being baked. Rinse it with cold water right after you remove it from the stove to stop the cooking process.
In a large bowl or pot, mix together all of the ingredients - minus the toppings.
Add to a lightly greased 9x13 baking dish. Add shredded cheese on top and neatly line additional pepperoni pieces up on top.
Cover with tin foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove tin foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Serve and enjoy! It’s great with caesar salad as a side.
