National Range Day at Cornwall Handgun Club

Open House at Cornwall Handgun Club Raises $5,000 for Beyond 21

The Cornwall Handgun Club is thrilled to announce the resounding success of its recent Open House which raised an impressive $5,000 for Beyond 21, a cherished local non-profit organization dedicated to offering day programs for adults with developmental disabilities.

This is the third annual Open House at Cornwall Handgun Club in recognition of National Range Day. National Range Day is celebrated on the first Saturday in June, annually. The Open House welcomed community members as well as friends and family of range members to tour the gun club property and learn more about legal firearm ownership and shooting sports in Canada. This event drew a large and enthusiastic crowd.

Attendees had the chance to witness impressive demonstrations by the club’s Cowboy Action and International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) teams, showcasing the skill and excitement of these shooting sports while demonstrating the safe and disciplined practices they follow.

Guests were also invited to learn how to properly and safely use a variety of pistols and rifles, while target shooting under the careful supervision and guidance of trained instructors and Range Safety Officers.

The Steel Challenge, one of the many shooting sport disciplines, proved to be very popular, offering participants an exhilarating experience that combined fun with the opportunity to gain confidence and knowledge in handling firearms.

The Canadian University Shooting Federation (CUSF), a national organization promoting shooting sports among post-secondary students across Canada, and Arcane Defense, a local firearm training and licensing provider, were present to offer additional information and support, enriching the experience for all attendees. Arcane Defense also held an exciting draw for a free Canadian Firearm Safety Course, giving one lucky guest the chance to get their firearm license course complete at no charge.

The success of the Open House was made possible by the dedication and hard work of the club’s volunteer members, the generosity of its sponsors, and the spirited participation of the community. Special thanks go to Fence Depot, Home Hardware Alexandria, Canadian Tire Cornwall, STP Aviation, Wolf Bullets, Arcane Defense and Boyer Signs for their sponsorship and support.

We couldn’t have done this without our dedicated range members, sponsors, and all the amazing community members who came out to show their support. The Cornwall Handgun Club is already looking forward to next year’s event, which promises to be even bigger and better.

The Cornwall Handgun Club extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved and is proud to have contributed to Beyond 21’s mission.
